Project Overview 

Current development on Archangel is focusing on class spell and talents as well as instance scripts

With the release of Season 1 and Tier 4, we have made a big step into the right direction, but we also knew that work and fine-tuning had just begun.


Another major goal has been Archangel's stability, while keeping the realms features into a stable progression. We are happy to announce that Archangel is reaching uptimes from 12 to 18 hours regularly, with 2000-2500 players online.

In the past months, a major goal has been to improve performance and smooth cooperation between our tester- and developer team for pre-live testing and over all smoother patch implementation of our live realms; The tester team has now been fully integrated into the development cycle in the last months and ensures has increased not only the over all update speed, but also the stability of updates. Note: Not everything can be pre-tested, especially if issues do not show before a certain population is reached, but with our tester team we have reduced the amount of potential issues for our live realm significantly

 Released: 
  • Tier 4
  • Tier 4 content - Karazhan, Magtheridon and Gruul's Lair has been released
  • Additional stability updates are in progress
  • Arena Season 1
    • Rated arena games have been introduced and Season 1 has officially started
    • Arena gear with retail Season 1 costs has been introduced
    • Grand Marshal and High Warlord honor PvP items have been introduced
  • Tier 5 attunements
    • All quests required to enter Serpentshrine Cavern or Tempest Keep have been polished and are working properly
  • Instance scripts
    • Warlord Kalithresh has found his way back into the Steam Vault chambers and is ready to fight any intruders
    • Millhouse has overcome his fear and will now join you and your allies in the fight against Harbinger Skyriss til death - or despawn
  • Performance and stability
    • Stability has been improved drastically with more than 5 crash fixes and an uptime of more than a day regularly
    • Performance work is a constant focus of our team, which made it possible to reduce peak time latency issues and will be continued to provide even better performance for even more players

  • Doomwalker is fully charged, waiting to unleash terror on his opponents and make the earth quake once more
  • Doom Lord Kazzak is ready to unleash his mark of death on any adventurer who dares to challenge him
  • Tier 5
    • Our developers have worked on Tier 5 for some time now and after many raid testing and resolving any issues which have been found, we are glad to announce that Tier 5 is fully completed
    • A month of development and testing has been put into it to guarantee a smooth raiding atmosphere and blizzlike fights
    • Additionally, with the help of many researchers and old raiders we have re-established the pre-nerf state of most - if not all - encounters to bring you an even more challenging experience

  • Patch #5 - Class fixes
    • Patch #5 is a patch split in several parts which will be applied every few days to ensure stability on our realms with the ability to still provide important updates for our players
    • 2 out of 4 split updates have been performed already, it is expected to be fully updated to Archangel by the beginning of next week

 In development: 
  • Class perfection
    • Last month a milestone called 'Class perfection' has been started in order to get rid of any spell and talent issues related to player classes
    • 95 issues have been gathered, more than 90 of them have been resolved already and are waiting to be applied to live in the Patch #5 series
    • This milestone is expected to be completed this week, which will bring the us one step closer to a fully blizzlike gaming experience by getting rid of all class spell and talent issues we could find ingame
  • Chess event
    • The long awaited Chess event has undergone a long development phase and has been raid tested a few times already
    • However, there are still stability improvements which need to be made to the encounter before it is ready to be released
  • Gameobject Line of Sight
    • We have started preparing a big change in the way gameobjects are handled currently
    • At the moment, most gameobjects are not considered when it comes to Line of Sight calculations
    • Taking gameobjects into calculation will highly increase the blizzlike feeling of the server and prevent players from skipping doors and similar objects
