TBC download + patches for Mac - Guide

Hi there,

Since I have had a lot of troubles getting the TBC client installed on my Mac (and also noticing others having trouble with it), I thought i'd share with you how I finally managed to do this.

First you'll need to download the TBC client (which brings you up to version 2.0), which can be downloaded with programs such as Vuze, Frostwire etc. It is also possible to download TBC from your retail CDs and then start patching

When downloaded, click and install Classic WoW. After that click and install TBC WoW.

As you might have noticed, the full client does include all the patches up to 2.4.3, but these are not working for Mac, though they do work for Windows.

Therefore, you will need to manually patch the game from 2.0 to 2.4.3

2.3.0 - 2.3.2: http://www.macgamefi...ld-of-Warcraft/

2.3.2 - 2.3.3: http://www.macgamefi...ld-of-Warcraft/

2.3.3 - 2.4.0: http://www.macgamefi...ld-of-Warcraft/

2.4.0 - 2.4.1: http://www.macgamefi...ld-of-Warcraft/

2.4.1 - 2.4.2: http://www.macgamefi...ld-of-Warcraft/

2.4.2 - 2.4.3: http://www.macgamefi...ld-of-Warcraft/

Set realmlist burningcrusade.servegame.org

I hope this guide helped! Tell me what you thought of it and questions are always welcome!

Regards,

Kysha

Hello,

so far you're guide has been helpful, but when I try to run the WoW-2.3.0-enUS-patch, it says I must have patch 2.0.0.6080. Now when I download the client for TBC, it takes me to patch 2.0.8. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Hondo

Have you tried re-installing the game? If so without succes, you could also try and download the GB patch, shouldn't make a difference whether you download the US or the GB patch.

I have not, I'll try that now.

Okay, before I get to the point of this post, I'll tell you that I have the Feenix 1.12.1 Server already up and running, now when I reinstalled the TBC Client, I try installing a new Classic WoW, as instructed, and instead of letting me download it says Play World of Warcraft. Now the Feenix server launchers, folders, and applications, etc. are named completely different. Know whats the problem? Thanks.

Hondo

RE-Edit:

Forget all of that, I deleted the Feenix 1.12.1 and successfully downloaded TBC. When I try to run the 2.0.0 - 2.3.0 patch, It says "<PatchMissingDataenGB> If this problem persists, you may be able to solve it by uninstalling, then reinstalling the game. If you are unable to correct this problem please contact Blizzard Yada Yada Yada." I've tried reinstalling atleast 3 times. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Hondo

Well, how you explain the problem I have not a clear answer ready. I will try and download it on my other mac exactly the way I described it here and see if I get any problems.

Just a note: You could also try and download TBC just from the CDs if you (still) have them and then start patching up.

I think I know what your problem is when you talk about <PatchMissingDataenGB>. The TBC download client is EnGB as far as I know and therefore you will need to download the Great Brittain patches. Try this and let me know if this solves the problem

I did it exactly as you wrote, and it worked perfectly. I can also confirm that you need to DL the EnGb patches! So arrange that in an Edit, and write down the realmlist aswell: "burningcrusade.servegame.org"!

I'm not sure what this problem is. When I click the link, it still takes me to the thread which contains the download client. Then try to just go to this thread via the forum.

Hi,

I'm having some problems installing this on my mac book with Mac OS X Lion 10.7.2, since i can't open the files from the link earlier posted on this forum.

Instead i downloaded another file, a US version of the game, but as soon as i patch it too 2.4.3 and try to start it it just crashes.

Any ideas what that might be? The game starts normally when i don't patch it but as soon as it gets patched i just get wow error upon starting it.

Thanks for the help!
